Wine 7 for Silverblue

I am relatively new to Silverblue, but it has been very solid for me so far.

Is there any way I can install Wine 7 on Silverblue? I am running the current version, all up to date. I use Wine for one and only one ancient program, but it’s important to me. Wine 8 breaks it, so I’m hoping there’s a way to get Wine 7.

TIA for any pointers…

I recommend using bottles: Install Bottles on Linux | Flathub

Otherwise you can setup toolboxes with older Fedora versions which have the Wine version that you want.

alternatively, use a Toolbox.

Added bottles, flatpak, wine

Thank you both for the suggestions. I will do some investigation.

It may be time to part company with the one ancient program that needs Wine. I’ve been running it in Linux under Wine for over 2 decades. If you promise not to laugh, I’ll even tell you what it is

2 decades, that’s incredible, but i totally agree with the bottles option, it create the wine in a sandbox so it’s not going to change even with a update
