Unable to Boot Fedora 37 : Freezing at Boot Screen

Hello everyone,

My PC running Fedora 37 no longer boots since an update I made from the Fedora store on March 12th. My PC is an Acer Aspire A514-53-5046 running Fedora 37. I can’t boot Fedora 37 anymore. When I start the PC, it turns on normally, the GRUB menu version 2.06 appears and offers me several choices to start:

  • Fedora Linux (6.5.12-100.fc37.x86_64) 37 (Workstation Edition)

  • Fedora Linux (6.5.11-100.fc37.x86_64) 37 (Workstation Edition)

  • Fedora Linux (6.5.10-100.fc37.x86_64) 37 (Workstation Edition)

  • Fedora Linux (0-rescue-3619463020ba4022bbeea06184a43cb9) 35 (Workstation Edition)

When I select Fedora Linux (6.5.12-100.fc37.x86_64) 37 (Workstation Edition), the Acer logo appears in the middle of the screen and the Fedora logo at the bottom of the screen (as usual), but nothing else happens. The PC freezes and there is no loading sign between the two logos (a sign that is supposed to indicate that Fedora 37 is booting up normally).

Can you please help me ? I don’t know what to do.

F37 has been EOL and getting no new support or fixes for more than 6 months.

What update was made on March 12? It had already been EOL for more than 3 months at that point.

Does it boot properly with one of the other kernels? 6.5.10 or 6.5.11?

If so then we may be able to assist.
