The Confined Users SIG has now a Matrix channel

Hi,

The confined-users SIG who are a “manifest” of the security-sig have now a Matrix channel:

We take care of su-confined-users and selinux-confined-users in ask.fedora and work on …
SIGs/ConfinedUsers - Fedora Project Wiki

Feel free to join (may it be just the channel, or the SIG  ).

This SIG is much about making people talk, exchange and team up in the relevant areas, but also to promote awareness and use of confinement possibilities. We intentionally have no formal onboarding process or regular meetings, although the SIG can evolve as it proves useful.

However, our budget does not yet allow us to offer free coffee in the channel. But we have a nice background!

Our Matrix room is #confinedusers. This room is for everything about user confinement: if you have any question, feel free to ask it there. If you have any idea about user confinement or want to exchange about our and your ways to confine, or just want to have some tech talk around confinement-relates issues, that’s a good place to join. Of course if you want to contribute and team up in related areas, the channel is also a good point to start. However, the channel is quite new and we do not yet know if and how much users will make use of it. But there will always be Fedora Discussion topics with our tags as alternative. You are also welcome to idle and see if interesting conversations come up.

Looks like I’m “Confined” to the Browser. . . couldn’t open the link in Element

The link should lead to Fedora’s browser element client. In that case, you will need to log in through FAS, in case you are not yet.

If you want to join from within any Matrix client, the channel is #confinedusers:fedoraproject.org

I think the “generic” Matrix links is: https://matrix.to/#/#confinedusers:fedoraproject.org

Does any of that work for you?

Authentication was finicky, but I got it after refreshing the browser.
