I recently installed Fedora 36 workstation. Playing videos on VLC inhibits idleness just fine. But when making video calls using Signal, it fails to inhibit idle state. It’s a bit of a chore to de-select and re-select the dim screen option every time between calls. Is there a way to fix the power management settings for video calls as such?
Thanks,
There’s a Gnome Extension that helps with this called Caffeine:
I considered that, but I get the message that says “Your native host connector do not support following APIs: v6. You should probably upgrade native host connector or install plugins for missing APIs”. So I’m guessing I’ll have to wait until the bug is resolved before I get to try Caffeine and the other Gnome Extensions. Not sure if there’s any way around that error.
I was able to install extensions on firefox and chrome with that error, more info;
