Root extraction into partition interrupted

Hello everyone,

I’m new to the Linux community and want to transition from MacOS to Fedora Asahi Remix. I’m trying to install it on a MacBook Air M2 with the alx.sh link on the Asahi Linux website.

I was able to do the disk partition and name the OS, which then started the download of the OS. Stub Os installation completed, however the download got very slow and got “Error downloading data (The read operation timed out)” or “Error downloading data ([Errno 54] Connection reset by peer)”.

The installer retried to download 5 times, with the last one getting to about 30% of the process. I’m thinking this might be due to some ISP/CDN issue (I’m downloading this from Latin America).

My question is, what is the best course of action here? Should I touch the partition or just try the installation again?.

Try the other installer here:

I think they use different servers. If you still have connection issues, a vpn might help.

As for partitioning, I don’t know if the script can continue if the disk is already partitioned (try it anyway tho). But in any case you can delete the partition and try again, checkout the cheat sheet : Partitioning Cheatsheet - Asahi Linux Documentation (it is very technical and a bit scary but it has everything you need so at least skim it so you don’t delete the wrong partition)
