On my Fedora WS, some crashes happen occasionaly. When it happens, the GNOME provides the opportunity to report the problem by Problem Reporting App. The proccess takes a sepricely long time (no problem, but is it normal?) and ends with the dialog box: “API key is not provided by configuration. Please enter the API key for ‘https://bugzilla.redhat.com’:” Since I’d like to report problems to the community, because I believe it helps to make Fedora even better, can somebody explain what am I supposed to type in that dialog box?
I am not using ABRT (Automatic Bug Reporting Tool), as I prefer to file issues manually, but I think you’re supposed to create an API key for your RedHat Bugzilla account, and supply it to ABRT, in order to connect the two platforms.
You can check the specific steps for obtaining an API key here:
Well, I work in tourism and, those days, in the middle of the season, I sleep at least twice less than needed. I’ve spend literarly hours trying to report a problem (one of many), without a secsess. Oh, yes, I’ve solved the problem with the API key. Still, at the end of leeeenghty process, editing sensitive data from the logs (that shouldn’t be there in the first place), agreeing with riscy privacy terms etc etc etc, the report cannot be send. I give up, asking myself how Red Hat can have ANYBODY to do this.
