Librewolf taking extremely long to launch

I’m on Fedora 40 Workstation (Wayland) and both Betterbird and LibreWolf take about 3-5 minutes to start. I got the error message:

Librewolf/Betterbird is already running, but is not responding. To use Librewolf/Betterbird, you must first close the existing Librewolf/Betterbid process, restart your device, or use a different profile.

I tried several solutions such as:

restarting my computer
clearing cache
uninstalling both Betterbird and LibreWolf
installing them as a flatpak
Launching them in safe mode

The other browser I’m currently using is called “Floorp” and it runs just fine.
How do I fix this ?

I’ve found that flatpaks tend to be slower, at least in my experience. They also seem very Window-ish to me, but that’s probably old person prejudice. Regardless, they are bloated.

I haven’t tried this one, but maybe it might be a better solution. Seems worth a try, anyway.

The link is for a custom librewolf repo, and a second one with instructions for using an unofficial COPR.

TL;DR: See this workaround.
