LibreOffice with the LanguageTool extension won't work

I have LibreOffice 24.2.5.2 with LanguageTool extension 6.4 and JRE 21.0.3 (Red Hat)

I can see the LanguageTool toolbar in writer, but the buttons don’t work. Press on one of the buttons and nothing happens.
I have the feeling that it has something to do with Java or the version of |Java installed, but I can’t find much about it when I try to google for it.

Anyone got an idea how to solve this?
