Issue with the latest version of Hyprland(0.42.x) on Asahi Linux

The recent release of Hyprland 0.42.0 introduced significant changes, with the most notable being the switch from wlroots to aquamarine. However, this update has caused issues on Asahi Linux, where applications that use OpenGL, such as Firefox, Kitty, or Chromium …, are no longer running properly. The current workaround involves disabling GPU acceleration by running “export LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1”, but a more fundamental solution to this issue seems necessary.

If you are aware of any methods to resolve this problem while still using the latest version of Hyprland, I would appreciate it if you could share the solution.

Here is the link to the issue on the Hyprland GitHub regarding this problem.

Just replied in the bug, this is their bug, not ours. They are trying to do things that aren’t supported by the hardware. It’s the app’s job to follow hardware requirements.
