How do I convert my laptop display in Grayscale mode

,

I tried downloading a grayscale .icc profile and add it in the ‘Color’ program under Cinnamon, but it didn’t help. I tried different combinations of gamma values in xrandr, xcalib, xgamma, but nothing seemed to help. Maybe the values I’m trying with these commands are not correct. If someone who knows about changing the color space of the display can help me with this, that would be really great.

Using GNOME Tweaks:

  • Install GNOME Tweaks if you haven’t already: sudo dnf install gnome-tweaks
  • Open GNOME Tweaks.
  • Go to Appearance > Colors.
  • Under the Color Filters section, select Grayscale.

Will this work with Cinnamon DE ?

For Cinnamon you need to install the Desaturate All applet. For details see https://askubuntu.com/q/1546984
