Need app for display calibration *without hardware*

I recently bought a Framework laptop and installed Fedora Linux. I’m quite happy with it so far except for one thing: The extremely harsh display. I’ve been looking for a display calibration/gamma utility, but all the ones I’ve found seem to fall into one of two categories: Either they require the installation of a preexisting color profile, or they require the use of specialized hardware.

Surely there must exist something akin to Adobe Gamma or the Windows display calibration app—something with an on-screen wizard I can walk through to set black, white and 50 percent gray levels and a neutral hue. Can anyone tell me where to find it?

Possibly this image may help from gnome settings → color then the view details button for your device.

Added display, framework, gnome, wayland, workstation

This is exactly the situation I was describing. This dialogue allows me to load an existing color profile but not to make alterations to it based on what I see on my screen, only with an external calibration device.
