Gnome Dock - Every App Looks Active Even When Not

Hi,

Recently updated Fedora to latest releases / patches and now all dock icons have the activity marker below then even when not running.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Fedora 36 (5.19.4-200.fc36.x86_61) Gnome 42.4, Wayland, Lenovo Thinkpad T470s

Thanks

Darren.

Hi @tenjin , welcome to the community.

This is most likely a bug in the extension—they usually lag behind new Gnome releases. What extension are you using for the dock please? Could you share a link?

Hi,

Thanks, i hadn’t considered that.

I use “Dash To Dock”.

D.

There was an update yesterday for “dash to dock” did you see and apply?

p.s.
In the settings you have the option to customize windows counter indicators. You might play around with this to see if it changes something.

  1. type this in terminal:

sudo dnf upgrade gnome-shell-extension-dash-to-dock --enablerepo=updates-testing,updates-testing-modular

or

sudo dnf upgrade --enablerepo=updates-testing --refresh --advisory=FEDORA-2022-004d41cad7
  1. disable and re-enable the extension
