Hi,
Understand the ‘Compress’ create archive option in FIle manager does not allow for setting passwords. Aware that zip -re <output.zip> in CLI. But is there a way to do it easily in the GUI File manager?
Thanks,
Kev

That option does not exist in the Nautilus integration (anymore). You have to take detour: open the Archiv Manager, create a new archive, password can be set under advanced options, then drag the files from nautilus into the archive…
If you are happy encrypting the files with GPG, you can install seahorse-nautilus
, which allows from 1-click encryption from nautilus.
Hi florian,
Thanks for the information!
