I bought a Dell Latitude 7480 with no os and installed Fedora 36 (Plasma de) on it yesterday. Tried to update it today and now it just shows a black screen and does nothing. The only thing I can do is hit ctrl+alt+F3 to bring up a terminal. I saw some suggest this else where on the internet. I’m a new Linux user and I don’t know how to fix this.
Do you see any related error messages when you run journalctl --boot? Was the computer turned off in the middle of an update?
I hit update and told it to restart after the update. It just bricked itself instead. Also, no error messages that I can see.
What’s the output of dnf check?
