Hello, I just switched from Windows to Fedora 39 (deleted everything). As explained in the title, my external monitor gets disconnected whenever I enter fullscreen on any application, as in the monitor won’t detect any signal at all until I unplug and replug it or press OS+P. Borderless windows cause the same problem. The issue is not quite consistent, it won’t always immediately disconnect.
My laptop uses an AMD CPU with integrated graphics. I’ve installed the media codecs as recommended. I’m not really sure what to do, any advice on where to look or how to fix it?
Glad you found a way to avoid the disconnect problem, but it is more of a workaround than a solution since Fedora will be removing Xorg (but leaving Xwayland) in the future.
You should be able to chose between wayland and Xorg on the login screen, so it is easy to check if the problem has been fixed after installing updates (both Fedora packages and vendor firmware using fwupdmgr – check for vendor firmware updates by running fwupdmgr get-updates.)
