Evolution: cannot archive messages

I’m using Evolution with a single POP email account.
As you can see below, I set up the Archive folder in the Account settings, but every time I try to archive a message Evolution says:

Cannot archive messages

No Archive folder is configured. Please configure one for the account in order to be able to archive messages.

I don’t know what can I do.

Maybe you need to create a “local” mail account to route the archived messages to? Below is a link to an older post where I showed someone how a local mail account could be created with Evolution:

I found the solution in the manual. Setting the Archive folder in the Account settings is not enough. A “fallback folder” must be set in the Preferences as well.

Now the Archive command and Ctrl+Alt+A shortcut work correctly.

Here’s what the user guide says:

You can define an Archive Folder for this account to move older messages there. This requires to first set a fallback folder under Edit ▸ Preferences ▸ Mail Preferences ▸ General ▸ Archive Mail. Selecting Message ▸ Archive in the main window moves the selected message to the specified folder.
