Hi,
i very recently installed fedora 35 and I see that the windows in the default desktop environment (which I don’t know how it is called by the way) don’t have the usual switches in one of the top most corners, to Minimize/maximize, Close, Variable size
I can only see an “x” switch on the right-most top corner, then if I double-click on the tabs bar I can enable the Variable size or maximize the window but can’t see any Minimize switch. (which actually makes the window desappear form sight and makes it an icon to click on the t"ask bar"(?) … maybe what I am looking for is having a more conventional desktop after all
Is there any way to enable it or is there any keys combinantion that allows that to happen?
Alternatively is there a different desktop whose windows display all of those switches ?
If yes, how can I install it?
Install “gnome-tweaks” and there should be an option there to re-enable the maximize and minimize buttons on gnome windows. Will try to find the exact option and post a picture later.
Thanks @hernane
I realized that in order to display the gnome-tweeks panel I have to do it from the terminal, but I cannot see it in, say the Configuration panel or even in the installed applications panel for some reason (however now I could finally get what I wanted! BIG THANKS!)
i found if you tap on the empty space with two fingers on top of the window next to a tab (on a laptop) it will bring up a menu letting you resize and hide windows also with a few other menu options
