Why does libreoffice-startcenter.desktop desktop file have NoDisplay=true?

As far as I know upstream’s start center shows up in applications menus and most other distributions have it show up. Why does fedora’s version have it not show up by default?

This comes from the time when libreoffice packaging was handled by RedHat folks. There are a lot of changes regarding icons and desktop files.

We may try to drop our downstream changes and see how the result looks like… that has been on my “try it” list for quite some time, but never had enough spare time to dig it.

Would love to see it being done if it isn’t too time consuming! Maybe a change proposal or a vote here in Fedora Discourse made by the SIG to see how people would react?

I curious too, and I wish LibreOffice Start Center not hidden as nowadays

One of the first things I do when I install the LibreOffice flatpak on Silverblue systems is hide Start Centre. It’s pointless to have it there whenever every other LibreOffice icon exists too. Unless you hide all those and only use the Start Centre.
