Why does Fedora have two photo/image-viewing apps out-of-the-box?

This seems like bloat and why have 2 photos app one image viewer and one called photos this creates confusion as well as unnecessary to have 2app with same functionality out-of-the-box seems like a samsung android phone. While we don’t have packages like f2fs though we have that option in gnome disk but we add 2image viewing app in a single workstation iso.

Photos is not just a Viewer - it is a photo library manager. It allows one to organize the photo collections.

One can open arbitrary images, the other manages existing photos in the form of albums and interfaces with camera libraries.

single one can do both like photos

You make a good point here. If Photos can do both, then why not cut the other? I’m curious to see more discussion around this.
