I got a new laptop, and it is very cool. Novacustom, with Coreboot, blazing fast Intel CPU, etc.
But it has no fingerprint reader, and I think I might like that.
To my knowledge some Windows readers are like a Fido2 Key, that store keys and send them if authentication succeeded. But those all dont work on Linux I think.
I know that the sensor on my Thinkpad T495 worked, even though not listed here
I would like to have a sensor that works normally with libfprint, and can be plugged in through usb-a. If anyone knows one, would be really cool.
Tbh I would also just buy everything from Ama*** and send them back because “no Linux support” but not motivated
