Fprintd and gnome isnt recognizing my fingerprint reader

I have lenovo ideapad 3 that has built in fingerprint reader and lsusb is recognizing it but I dont know how to get it working. Does anybody know? I only found windows drivers for the fingerprint reader I didn’t find any linux ones. Neither Gnome nor fprintd recognizes the reader.

That’s not unheard of sadly. If Lenovo doesn’t ship drivers for it for Linux, then there’s a good chance it’s not going to work with fprintd.

Try:

sudo authselect enable-feature with-fingerprint

Probably the best way is add fingerprint device to unsupported list.
