Touchpad doesn't work after system updates

Hi there,
as the title says i have a problem with the touchpad (fresh Fedora installation on new hardware). It doesn’t work after the latest system updates (previously it was ok). For the sake of completeness I want to specify that two unfortunate events occurred before this happened:

  • a firmware update concerning secure boot which gave an error message at reboot (although it seems to have been installed anyway);

  • system updates stuck the system on reboot (even though it was 100% complete), which forced me to do a hard shutdown (via key) since I couldn’t open a terminal.

I don’t think the first event has anything to do with it, but I mention it for completeness.

Now I don’t know how ti resolve It.

Thank you

Welcome to Fedora @odi-3

With sudo dnf upgrade --refresh did you try to redo the update you could not finish?

Please let us know which Hardware …

Thank you for the support!
All packages are updated. As I said updates were 100% complete. No errors appeared in the verbose boot screen. I don’t know why it froze.
Hardware info: Acer Aspire Vero, Intel Core i5-1155G7

Did you test the shot cuts/key combinations proposed by Acer it selves?

I feel so stupid
When the computer froze I tried a series of key combinations to try to open a shell. I hadn’t noticed the presence of a key to lock the touchpad. Thank you so much, @ilikelinux

Hi,

I’m currently having the kernel “Linux fedora 6.5.8-200.fc38.x86_64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Fri Oct 20 15:53:48 UTC 2023 x86_64 GNU/Linux”, and the touchpad is not working.

Please let me know any solutions.

Thanks,
Mallikarjun.
