So updated my Acer Aspire 3 (A315-41-R28F), running kernel 5.3.6-200, and for some reason the system doesn’t register my trackpad. Can anyone be of help?
Hi @duvjones welcome to Ask Fedora.
It can be a bug introducide in the kernel or libinput.
run the command sudo libinput list-devices
and look for the model of your trackpad in case this is recognized if it is the case:
1-Look for similar issues related with your model
2-File a bug report attaching the model of your touchpad (How to file a bug :: Fedora Docs )
I readed in google what others Acer users changed into the BIOS into the option of touchpad from Advance to Basic how a temporaly solution until a new kernel solved the issue, others add some parameter to the kernel…
Regards.
I am not sure that this is a bug to be filed yet because on reboot, I have been getting the track-pad to work… if only because I keep drawing circles during start up.
That said, I will likely file a bug soon once some things are clearer.
Thank you for your help.
