I am really tired of optimus nvidia not working properly. Prime settings are missing, x server settings doesnt really have any settings inside. Compared to windows nvidia control panel. Powerd service takes over 2 mine to turn off ( on rawhide ). On fedora 42 nvidia driver freeezes whole system. Rawhide does not have this problem but why fedora 42 has? nobody knows. etc. It has been years but still nvidia driver refuses to work properly.

Edit: Rawhide is also broken. It sometimes works, sometimes does not work

Prime setting aren’t missing, Ubuntu is the only distro that patches that support into it’s nvidia driver packages.

Fedora uses switcherooctl cli or gnome, cinnamon and I believe plasma has the option it the apps menu to choose with gpu to launch the app.

Yes, I have amd iGPU, nvidia dGPU

this is still on Rawhide where support is basically limited since it is development…

Ubuntu patches nvidia-settings to add that setting

Last time I checked AMD didn’t support Prime switching, I have an intel/amd laptop paperweight.
