@jflory7 The current deployment is using GitHub webhook for deployment and according to the OpenShift documentation (see Triggering Builds - Builds | Developer Guide | OpenShift Container Platform 3.11) the GitLab is suported as well.

So it shouldn’t be issue to move the repository from GitHub to GitLab, there just need to be the webhook set up again.

@jflory7 Just to note, if we transfer the site to GitLab, I’ll not be able to contribute and to care about it, at least not for the time being. The clumsy GitLab workflow takes too much of my time, I can’t afford it currently (just in the time it takes me to go through all the login steps in GitLab, I’ve completed most of the tasks in Pagure or GitHub). I can take care of the wiki pages involved (migrate to QD or redirect), if we communicate about it using e.g. Matrix or simple email.

Oh, no problem from my side. The purpose of such public discussions is to check whether an idea finds broad support or is not quite suitable after all.

@jflory7 , @sgob , @zlopez Folks, the end of the year is approaching, and it’s time for the infamous “good New Year’s resolutions”. So, could we make the necessary decisions, close this thread and continue with a new topic like “Ongoing work on WCIDFF”?

Bag new I’got time to put my hands on it again, if you are interesting:

Phase 1: Update org.chart and remap of getfedora:

  • Add Workstation, Server, IOT, Atomic, coreOS, spins and labs under desktop.yml
direct from wiki to fedora docs
  • Updates according data provide to org.chart and the complete remap of get.fedora
  • Delete coding directory
  • not reflect what program are build in a specific programing language instead reflect what programing language fedora can manage
  • Mising Fedora Cloud Docs in Fedora Documentation :: Fedora Docs
  • Update and Include Badged
  • Remove Internazionalization
  • Reduce the number of includes
  • Update README, how to share with other user for aproving
  • askfedora/discussion and instructor, to help.yml

This bugs I’ve found remaping asknog-ng: @pbock could please check if these apply:

Todo, all of them are wiki and are useing actually I’ve just sync and with fedora docs QA-team:

All these fedora QA pages needs to be convert from wiki to docs:

Phase 2: Breakpoint as @mattdm comments:

- negatives: next item
- afirmative: redirect to fedora docs to get more information
- backlinks: if is a children go to parent
- wlink: add I would like to join wich redirect to fedora-join SIG newcomers workflow

   * Updated to add the new break point:

    updated: asknot_lib.py
    updated: questions/fedora.yml

   * Add redirection to get all desktop, cloud, iot, spins and labs

Working Copy is Here, a static site in fedorapeople place

Tested and ping me if you’re interested-> What can I do for Fedora?

cc. @mattdm @ankursinha @pboy @jflory7 @zlopez

I will be glad to make a PR.

WDYT?

Comments

for some reason the app manage well badged images but not image taken from get.fedora
I only know it works well with the old get.fedora ones, something to investigate

Note

The text show there is not write as a stone, it can be tweaks if you decide.

What can I do for Fedora?

Modularity
rethinking how we compose the distro

Modularity is dead, so that slide needs to be dropped or replaced.

As a replacement, maybe link to Bootc or rpm-ostree or one of the other things like this could be added.

if is so why have a docs in fedora docs., or maybe I supose is a moduliry related docs.

This page lists the communication channels of members of the Modularity Working Group (Modularity WG), related projects and also how you can contribute to the project.

Note

I’m out of time, for personal problems I’m not Fedora Project Contributor anymore as I point here Bye-Bye → only Admin can see this post.

if anyone would like:

anyone can clone my repo and work with those improvements if you wish, because I made the dirty work:

The chart branch has all the changes.

WCIDFF is not a especifical site for technicall information (I think bootc and rpm-oss does) is design to have a general view of $USER posibilities to start to contributing in fedora however in you get inside atomic desktop you’ll get all kind of information about this technology.

Regards.,

Ohh sorry I’ve forgot something…

Phase 3:

  • set default base image 41 no modular repo there
  • disable fedora-cisco-openh264

Phase 4:

  • Write a Community Blog

Phase 5:

  • Contact Fedora Translation TEAM

Done

Note

I hope with this fedora will have a lot’s of fedora Community Contributor

Happy Release to all of you that is my best whishes

Regards.,
