Restart instead Shutdown

when i poweroff the linux its going to shutdown and after seconds its turning on again and showing me the grub
but i dont have this problem in windows
i dual boot fedora and win on on hard with 2 drives everythig is fine yet but cant shut down without the power button

So with shut down or ‘poweroff’, you’re actually getting a restart? Please describe how you’re attempting to shut down or ‘poweroff’ and which desktop environment you’re using.

Greg.

hi i think i did ping them i use gnome and when i click on power off button on gnome or even in terminal its going to shutdown and after some seconds its turning on and booting again and showing the grub

I had the same Issue, and then one nice day, it worked again

What i made is, i played around with the power settings.

First I would test option in Settings > Power > Power-saving Options
Then check what the > Power Button Behavior is set on. If it is on Suspend try to set it on > Power Off alias > Noting to see if this changes something.

hello
i did this

and tryed all
But now while working with it, it randomly shuts down
i think it happened after the changes and still shutdown not fixed i also installed manjaro and had the same problem but in windows i dont have problem with shutdowning the laptop

and also my lspci looks like this

[darky@fedora ~]$ sudo lspci -nnk
[sudo] password for darky:
Sorry, try again.

A connection to the bus can't be made

what is that a connection to the bus cant be made i think there is a problem with linux or bios ?

What exactly did you do?
I meant you should do this:

sudo -u gdm dbus-run-session gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power sleep-inactive-ac-timeout 0

This sets the Plugged in delay to 1800 seconds, i.e. 30 minutes. You can use 0 to disable the automatic suspend completely. You can verify that the option was set by displaying the current values as described above.

Can you execute the command again and see what errors you get and post them here.
I did set the value to 0 to check if you can switch off auto suspend in general. You have also to check in the settings if it is off.

You should also try disabling Fast Startup from Windows as shown here. If you can’t reboot your PC to reach windows then try with a hard shutdown by long pressing the power button.

This is the error. But I have no idea why a connection to dbus fails and how to debug that. In a default Workstation system, it works just fine. Both from graphical session, VT session and over shh. What is your Fedora edition, @anon5065024 ? Is it somehow customized?
