QT App Interface Issues - VLC, Kid3 (Fedora 38 Cinnamon)

Folks -

As of the upgrade of the default installed qt5 packages from 5.15.8-10 to 5.15.10-1, at least a month or two ago, I’ve noticed significant menu/interface rendering issues in multiple apps.

This occurs in the Fedora 38 Cinnamon spin with the default “Mint-Y-Dark-Aqua” theme. Screenshots below of the strangeness. The interface does not appear to respect the dark aspect of the theme, and in some cases, seems to invert the colors so as to make the interface unreadable.

I’m noticing this in VLC as well as the MP3 tag editor, kid3, which is unusable. For now, I’m choosing to ignore any qt5 upgrades but of course that’s not a long-term solution.

Downgrading the qt5 packages to 5.15.8-10 restores the interface integrity. I don’t run flatpak apps at all but I did install them just to see if the problem would occur and it does NOT, the flatpak versions function correctly. The apps as installed from rpmfusion (VLC) and the fedora repos (kid3), experience the issue.

Any ideas?
