The entire application and everything that happens on the screen flicker. When starting from a USB flash drive - just as if somehow it turns out to be installed on a hard disk - when downloading and entering a password, everything still flickers / disappears / lags.

It didn’t work, now fedora doesn’t load, stops at the moment of loading and that’s it. I forgot to clarify that when you run manjaro from a USB drive with a proprietary driver, it doesn’t even start, it stops at what mhwd is looking for.
Did you try disabling secure boot in BIOS/EFI?
