New To Fedora

Hello Fedora Community,

I’m a high school student new to Fedora and open-sourced development. I would like to start contributing to the open-source community and get a sense of how development works, but I’m looking for advice on where to begin.

I am currently interested in working in Fedora development and security, starting small with tasks such as bug reporting or documentation and working my way up.

If anyone could assist me with the beginner’s process by providing resources and recommendations, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

I have, but I’m a bit confused about how to join the matrix channels and stuff.

thanks for your response

Hi @opensourceforever144 , Welcome to the community!

We have a “Welcome to Fedora” process in place for newcomers. It helps you quickly learn where/why/when/how/what the community does, with the idea being that you can then identify what interests you and what you would like to do. If you can please login to pagure.io, I can open a new ticket for you too:

Let me know when you login on pagure.

Regards.,

You will probably want to start by creating an account in the Fedora Account System (FAS): https://accounts.fedoraproject.org/

Once you have that, then clicking the link and signing in with your new account should work.

Note: here is the Welcome to Fedora ticket:
