Introducing Myself - Cristian

Hey guys!

So glad to be here. I already introduced myself in the Project Conversations but I’ll do it again here since this is where I’d like to contribute the most. I’ve been working with Linux for the last 5 years or so and so far I’ve been having a great time, I recently passed my RHCSA and now I’m about to take my RHCE

  • Why are you interested in contributing to Fedora?

I love all things Red Hat and Fedora is one of my favorite distros, so why not help the project even if it’s just a little little bit.

  • Why are you interested in contributing to CommOps?

I have SysAdmin/Engineering skills, I’m kinda bad at programming but can read code and find my way around things, I can also do automation in Ansible. According to the docs, this is a good place to start if you have sysadmin knowledge.

  • Do you have any experience in open source or online communities? If so, what?

Not really, this is the first time I’m trying to get involved into collaborating and supporting such a big project.

  • Do you have any questions for us? How can we help you get started?

I’m pretty sure most of you guys have way more knowledge than I, so my question is: how can someone like myself help or contribute? What’s your advice for a newbie and how did you feel when you just started here.

Hello @cditomasso,

CommOps was my first group in fedora

I will love to help you with your firsts steps; you can check our pagure repo and also check the easy fix tasks.

This is a great lecture too

This is a cool web app What can I do for Fedora?

Nice to meet you, and I will be happy to help you.

Gracias @bt0dotninja !

I checked Pagure last night and sorted by “good first issue”, couldn’t find many issues. Maybe that’s a first good question, how often do you guys and girls work on new issues? Is it a few a month? Are these issues mostly technical or other kind of issues?

Second link is great, I’ll be reading it today. Third link is even better, I’ll try to find other groups where maybe I could be of some help  Once again thanks for your help
