Unless otherwise noted, editorial board meetings are held at #meeting:fedoraproject.org on Matrix.
Tomorrow’s meeting is canceled due to lack of quorum.
Also, FYI, I just deleted a bunch of old replies to this thread that were mostly just the editors debating on whether or not to have meetings. I actually thought this thread was supposed to auto-delete things after a few weeks, but that doesn’t seem to be working as well as it should.
I have no problem.
I’ll try. I’m in Chicago in route to Portland right now but if there is enough to do I can be there.

There is basically nothing to do as far as I can tell. So don’t worry about it.
@theevilskeleton There isn’t really enough material (or participants) to hold the meeting tomorrow. However, there is one article awaiting review and publication – Understanding BTRFS and putting it to good use “General Explanation”. If you have the time to make an image for that article, that would be super helpful. Thanks.
@glb @theevilskeleton Do we want to have a meeting to square away any upcoming QA/test/Release articles?
The only possible article is the next Btrfs article but I don’t think it is ready yet. Unless I’ve missed something (again).
I’m not 100% sure that I will be able to make the meeting tomorrow. But I think it is likely that I will be able to. I’m not sure what there would be to discuss though. The Pagure board does a pretty good job at showing what is ready for review and publication. Like you said, I think about all we have at this point is the Btrfs article(s). If you can scare up a test day article, that would be fine with me. You might also check to see if you missed any votes on any proposals on this forum.
I’m OK either way for the meeting tomorrow. I’m just not sure if I will be able to make it.
We/I can check the test/qa schedule and see what is upcoming:
https://fedorapeople.org/groups/schedule/f-37/f-37-magazine-tasks.html
I’ll open some tickets for the upcoming announcements.
The “What’s new…” article was started but isn’t due yet.
Not seeing any proposals but I’ll check more closely.
In the mean time I propose we skip the meeting again.
Ditto for this week I assume?
Actually, I just realized that I won’t be able to make tomorrow’s meeting. So you’re on your own if you want to have one.
@glb @theevilskeleton Yeah, think we can skip again. I’ve had many conflicts this week and haven’t gotten much done.
@glb @theevilskeleton Very late to ask this question, but are we meeting today?
I’ve got nothing to add and only one article seems to be ready (needs image, which I’ll take care of).
Sorry, I forgot too. My schedule should be back to normal next week, so I’ll be able to start attending meetings again.
@rlengland FYI, I have a suspicion as to why zodbot responds more favorably to me than to you. If you look at the end of the Minutes, you’ll notice that your username has a [m]
at the end but mine does not.
To get rid of that trailing [m]
, I think you need to configure Matrix to connect to IRC with your proper IRC account (rlengland
) instead of the auto-generated account (rlengland[m]
). To do that you need to give Matrix the IRC credentials for your rlengland
account. There are instructions on how to do that here: Can I connect to CentOS IRC channels from my Fedora Matrix account? - #3 by bookwar - Fedora Discussion

@glb I’ve tried the !nick … !reconnect steps but is there a way to determine if it cured anything?
Going from that old adage, “A picture is worth a thousand words.”, I just tried to create an image to document how to do this.
Notice that the first time I ran !nick
, it responded Currently connected to IRC networks: irc.libera.chat as glb[m]
but the last time I ran !nick
, it responded Currently connected to IRC networks: irc.libera.chat as glb
.
Maybe it would be worthwhile to upload the above image to Fedora Magazine’s documentation somewhere? Or if you can make something better, that would be fine too.
@glb Another slow week. Are we on for the meeting tomorrow (3 Nov) or are we good to go for a while?
cc: @theevilskeleton
Since we met last week and there is little for this week, let’s skip tomorrow’s meeting. Also, I have a scheduling conflict with next week’s meeting, so I won’t be able to attend next week.
