March 26th 40 Beta iso hangs at gdm. **Updated.**

Just downloaded Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-40_Beta-1.10.iso and used Fedora Media Writer under Fedora 39 to make a bootable USB.

The media survives a check and starts booting, but always hangs just before showing gdm. See attached image.

System Info:
Host: 81LL IdeaPad L340-17IRH Gaming
CPU: Intel i7-9750H (12) @ 2.6GHz [60.0°on]
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Mobile / Max-Q
GPU: Intel CoffeeLake-H GT2 [UHD Graphics 630]

EDIT/UPDATE: I was able to install using the Safe Graphics option under Troubleshooting. After install, the nouveau driver wasn’t installed. I think it’s the new open source Nvidia driver. Can someone confirm?

If I were to guess, it seems that starting with 40, Fedora has moved from the nouveau driver to the new open source Nvidia driver. The Installer app hasn’t caught up. Hopefully it’s something they nail down before it goes final.

I could never get past switching to root until F40 beta hangs only way i got it working was to install F39 and then upgrade it to F40 and always when it hangs force reboot/shutdown so something is there don’t know what

No, we have not changed the driver. All this likely means is that there is a bug in the nouveau driver (or something on top of it, when it’s running on nouveau) that affects your hardware. Using “safe graphics mode” prevents use of the native driver and so avoids the bug.
