Testing request: Fedora 40 on laptops with nVidia hybrid GPUs

Hi folks! We have a proposed blocker - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2274490 - for Fedora 40 on nVidia RTX 3000 series GPUs , it would be great to get some more testing to confirm whether it affects all such GPUs. The bug should be quite simple - it prevents the system booting at all. So if you have such a GPU, please just try booting the Workstation live image - https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/stage/40_RC-1.13/Workstation/x86_64/iso/Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-40-1.13.iso - and see if you reach the desktop or not. If anyone with such a GPU could report back either way either here or in the bug report, that’d be great. Thanks!

ayyy I have a 3060 and its been rough tbh. I’ve tried so many things to get it to work well. I don’t have any booting problems, but boy do I have every problem with flickering, games running terribly vs windows 11 with the same setup and configs and apps crashing… Both on Gnome and the KDE. I just bought an AMD card today because of it all.

All my problems have been better the past few days with nouveau, I’m not sure if there have been any updates push to fix it. I just know the flickering has lessened.
I’ll do some testing on my 3060 and report on it.

Thanks for the help, folks, this turns out to be more to do with laptop hybrid GPUs than a specific series, and we think we’ve identified a kernel patch that should mitigate the issue and will be included in Fedora 40 Final.
