Hi everyone,
Please see below the screenprint that shows what happens when I open LibreOffice software. This has been the case as from my last update of the OS (Fedora 42). Has anybody experiend this issue?
Is this the standard Window List extension, delivered by Fedora, but not active by default?
Can you describe how this happens, e.g. what actions do you take specifically after a restart?
A few other questions:
ls -l ~/.config/autostart
?Yes, on the extension.
I need to restart the extension.
I didn’t understand exactly what actions do you take for multiple instances of LibreOffice to appear in the Window List.
So it only happens when some extensions (other than Window List) are enabled? If true, then the issue should be searched in these extensions. You can enable them one by one to find the culprit.
I just click on the ice and they appear.
I think so too. I need the Windows List for daily use, I will have to look for alternatives.
I am missing specific steps from your part that would allow us to reproduce the issue. When I open new Writer windows (“File - New” in LO), they neatly are added as separate buttons with the Blue LO Writer icon and labeled with the Window title. This is on a fresh install of Fed 42 (before, I upgraded during five years).
Please, see my answers below,
In the software center, search “Libreoffice”. Remove the package “LibreOffice” with the white icon. If this uninstalls the components that you need, install them individually back (“LibreOffice Writer”, “LibreOffice Calc”, etc).
The extension was out-of-date. Installed Dash Lane and everything is back to normal.
