Keychron V1 media knob pressing doesn't work for play/pause

Update: The issue seems to have resolved itself. Maybe this was just a weird one-off thing.

I’m running Fedora 39 with Cinnamon. I’m using a Keychron V1 with the media knob.
Using VIA, I can set the knob to lower or increase volume with turning it, and pause/play by pressing it. The volume settings work fine, but the play/pause just doesn’t work.
I first noticed this with mpv, thinking it was some issue with the mpv-mpris plugin. However, I realized that the play/pause didn’t work for youtube videos in my browser either or in other video players.
If I log out and log back in, it works for a little while but then eventually it stops.
In the Cinnamon keyboard binding settings, I can assign the knob button to an action like ‘Sound and Media/Play’ - pressing the knob to set it as the key works, it’s recognized in that option.
If I set the knob to an option like ‘Sound and Media/Launch media player’, it will open up my default music player. It seems my desktop just doesn’t recognize the knob being pressed when it’s set to pause or play media?

If I launch a video with mpv, then in a terminal launch playerctld, I get this error:

(playerctld:25150): playerctl-WARNING **: 21:37:28.971: could not get tracklist properties for player: org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.mpv

If I do the same with a player like VLC, I get these errors:

(playerctld:25150): playerctl-WARNING **: 21:37:46.281: Player org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.vlc doesn't appear to support interface org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.TrackList, but sent PropertiesChanged regarding its properties.
(playerctld:25150): playerctl-WARNING **: 21:37:46.281: could not get properties for active player: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "GetAll" with signature "s" on interface "org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties" doesn't exist

How do I get this to work again? I don’t know where to begin to troubleshoot this. With search engines being useless now I can’t find any relevant answers based on what I can think of trying to search.
