My name is Andreas Haerter, an IT guy residing in Karlsruhe, Germany. I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself…
I plan to invest more time again in community work. Recently, I’ve launched several open-source projects, including a Roundcube plugin and a Proxmox helper script. Additionally, I hope to contribute to some niche Special Interest Groups (SIGs) like ComplianceAsCode and sig-bsi-grundschutz in the near future.
As Fedora is my personal as well as my companies daily driver on our laptops for years (even for the office workers ), I am sure I can write an interesting magazine article from time to time, particularly focusing on Fedora and OSS on the desktop, working with Smart Cards in the real world and so on.
About a decade ago, I was involved with Planet Fedora (Feed aggregator). However, I’m currently unable to update or reconnect a blog as I can’t log in via SSH at fedorapeople.org. My understanding is that this is because my FAS account is not associated with any group anymore. Could you provide guidance on resolving this issue?
There’s a very old wiki page at User:Andreashaerter - Fedora Project Wiki created to introduce myself (back when I switched to Fedora 14). However, I’m unable to update the wiki page. I assume membership in some group is also necessary there to log in via FAS account. If so, how to get the permission to at least edit one’s own user page?
First, you may select any topic shown in the Fedora-magazine-newsroom that appears in the STALLED or IDEAS column. If there is an author already assigned, contact us to see if we know anything about the status. Otherwise let the editors know and we’ll assign the article to you. We use comments on the cards to communicate, by the way.
I have added you to the magazine editors group, just so you have access. Each group should provide the information required to request access to the group. Typically you would make contact with someone in a specific group to see about being added to it.
Let us know if that helps.
Hope to see you writing for the Fedora Magazine soon.
@andreashaerter I’ve assigned #36 and #39 to you. Let’s wait on #224, #202, and #36 and see if anyone responds and let you get your feet on the ground.
I guess you mean #59 (list commands) and yes, thank you very much for the fast feedback and help!
Sounds like a plan an I will start with #59 ASAP (as it is the article easier to start with) and after this was finished, start with the Netbox one (which needs more preparation)
