Introduction and asking to contribute an article for Fedora KDE 41's launch?

Hi folks - my name’s John, I’m mostly a general user (currently of Fedora KDE 40, soon to be 41!) and lurker in different development channels as I’m trying to learn things by osmosis. Most of my work experience came in the corporate world, and I did have to do write-ups and presentations fairly frequently that summarized for others the work that my team or I had done.

I’m now a part-time assistant for my wife’s accounting company, and full-time dad , and the possibility of helping others learn more about the software that we take advantage of every day is pretty exciting!

I saw posted in the Fedora KDE Matrix channel that there was a need for someone to be able to contribute an article proposal to Fedora Magazine announcing what was new in Fedora KDE 41, so I’d like to ask here, if you folks approve, to be granted access to the appropriate parts of the workflow to be able to actually write and get feedback on that article (I’ll be submitting the proposal as well).

Please let me know if that would be alright, and what other things I should do to get started (I believe I have the steps covered in this guide completed now)!

Thanks,

Hi John. Yes! Fedora Magazine is always looking for more writers. :slightly_smiling_face: +1 from me.

If a second editor approves, he should be able to provide the links you need to access the tools.

That Matrix channel is probably the best place to get answers about what should be in the article. You will need to get feedback and approval for the article content from the members of the KDE SIG (they should be available in that Matrix channel from time to time):
