Is it possible to completly disable ibus and use xkb only

Is it possible to disable ibus completely on Silverblue (33)/Gnome, and only use xkb layouts?

My preferred configuration is:

XKB_DEFAULT_LAYOUT=us,mk
XKB_DEFAULT_OPTIONS=grp:switch,grp:caps_toggle,grp_led:caps

Will the layout indicator in Gnome work?

Anyone?
I currently experiencing the problem with Caps Lock, can’t set it as layout switching shortcut via XKB options.

Wanted to disable all the IBus things to check if they are interference by any means…
Unfortunately, I can’t just uninstall the ibus* packages as Gnome depends on them.
