測試 ibus-libzhuyin 與 ibus-chewing

大家好，我目前正在提案從 Fedora 41 開始，安裝時候選擇 zh_TW 語言的時候預設安裝的輸入法換回 ibus-chewing，理由是因為 ibus-chewing 與 libchewing 目前有比較活躍的開發，我也認為比較符合台灣人的使用習慣。

與 Fedora i18n team 討論過後我們決定要收集更多的回饋，尤其是 ibus-chewing 現在不足的地方，作為新酷音未來開發方向的參考。希望大家可以幫忙測試安裝 ibus-zhuyin 以及 ibus-chewing，互相比較一下然後回報。

Hello everyone, I am currently proposing that starting from Fedora 41, when the zh_TW language is selected during installation, the default installed input method should be changed to ibus-chewing. The reason is that ibus-chewing and libchewing are currently under active development and in my opinion more close to the usage habits of zh_TW community.

After discussing with the Fedora i18n team, we decided to collect more feedbacks, especially on the current shortcomings of ibus-chewing, as a reference for the future development direction. I hope you can help test by installing both ibus-zhuyin and ibus-chewing, compare them with each other and report back.

Correction!

The original post had a typo. The correct package names are

  • ibus-libzhuyin
  • ibus-chewing

You can install both using

sudo dnf install ibus-libzhuyin ibus-chewing

我平時是用 ibus-array 的行列輸入法，但 Fedora 沒有收錄，我必須透過 RPM Sphere 來下載安裝 ibus-array。不知 Fedora 是否有收錄 ibus-array 為系統內建輸入法模組的一天？

我不知道 ibus-array 沒有收錄在 Fedora！身為新 Fedora packager 我可以試試看把它包進 Fedora 讓行列的使用者可以直接安裝。

BTW，簡單表格式的行列還可以用 ibus-table-chinese-array

我個人不推薦 ibus-table-chinese-array 的原因，一是鍵碼表版本太舊（而且有缺碼），有些字無法打出來，二來它並非遵循行列輸入法規格書的定義，有些功能沒有實作出來。ibus-array 十分接近標準行列輸入法規格書的定義，也符合一般行列輸入法用戶的慣用方式。

ibus-array 在 github 的網址為 GitHub - lexical/ibus-array ，如果 Fedora 將它收入官方套件庫 (repo)，對於行列輸入法的用戶將會方便許多。

感謝！您打包的 ibus-array，我在 Fedora 39 上面測試，運作正常。

ibus-chewing 在偏好設定界面是英文，如果翻譯成中文會比較看得懂。
然後在偏好設定界面可以加個關於分頁(ibus-libzhuyin已經有了)，把https://chewing.im/ 網站加上去，讓使用者可以更方便的連到該chewing網站了解功能與特色。
chewing-editor (GitHub - chewing/chewing-editor: Cross platform chewing user phrase editor)，chewing-editor 目前沒有在fedora repo 裡面，如果有的話就可以直接安裝來自訂詞庫了。
以上是使用的小心得。

謝謝你的建議！我不確定為什麼 ibus-chewing 1.6.1 的偏好設定沒有翻譯，但是我確定新版的 ibus-chewing 2.0.0 會有翻譯，而且有全新的界面 (IBus Chewing 更新 – Kan-Ru's Blog)：

或許我應該要把 ibus-chewing 2.0.0 上傳到 F40
在設定界面加關於分頁是很好的建議，我再研究看看怎麼加

chewing-editor 在 libchewing 0.8.0 釋出之後有計畫要翻修後重新上傳 :+1:

非常贊成！Fedora 的正體中文，就該用台灣社群自己開發的 ibus-chewing 做注音輸入才道地啊！
