Hi, I have a laptop that has
Intel Corporation TigerLake-LP GT2 [Iris Xe Graphics] [8086:9a49]
and both the i915 and the xe driver are loaded…
Kernel driver in use: i915
Kernel modules: i915, xe
How do I switch to use the xe driver instead of the i915?
I found some topics that suggested a kernel command line parameter might do it, but this was for the experimental driver and the post on phoronix was two years old.
‘…Intel has merged support into Mesa for interfacing with the Xe kernel mode driver, but it’s disabled by default right now…’ (https://www.phoronix.com/review/intel-xe-benchmark#:~:text=force_probe=!,with%20this%20new%20kernel%20driver.)
Is that support enabled by default now?
btw, when I tried to login the login page hung, and returned a red prompt saying ‘system failure’. When I returned to the forum page and refreshed, I was logged in. Should I report this?
