Intel Iris GPU says missing Driver on Fedora 41

I just installed Fedora and have a Dell Latitude 7390. When I went to install I couldn’t get the installer to work (The monitor would just go black). I ended up installing with the troubleshooting graphics option and successfully installed. Everything seems to be working great except the video seems a little sluggish and the HDMI port does not work for a second monitor. Under Graphics the Driver says N/A so I assume this is the problem. I installed with the Basic Gnome option but decided I didn’t love it and added KDE. I am having the problems on both. I am sorta new to Linux so any help would be amazing!

What does

 lspci -k | grep -EA3 'VGA|3D|Display'

Give you? It should list something like (for me, on a Dell with Intel

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Raptor Lake-P [Iris Xe Graphics] (rev 04)
        Subsystem: Dell Device 0c07
        Kernel driver in use: i915
        Kernel modules: i915, xe

The important line is Kernel driver, what does that list for you?
Also, check the early boot log (via journalctl and/or dmesg) for any hints why the driver (if it’s not loaded) is not loading.

I edited your post to use preformatted text for the inxi output.

journalctl has these lines which I think may be related?

Feb 21 04:59:02 fedora kernel: ACPI Warning: SystemMemory range 0x00000000FE028000-0x00000000FE0281FF conflic>

Another issue I have encountered and have no idea if it is related is if the computer suspends or sleeps it will not resume. The fans spin for a second and the monitor never comes back on the orange led starts flashing. Hard reset is the only way to get it back. I appreciate your help so much!

Update
I tried reinstalling 41 with KDE by making a new USB and using the Media creator tool. I had the same issue with that. Then I tried 40 with KDE and that one worked! Then I upgraded to 41 after and it still works. so not sure why it doesn’t work if i try and go straight to 41 on a clean install but I am up and running. Thanks for the help!

My guess is that the issue was one of firmware, assuming your 41 install was not up to date with the missing firmware, and upgrading from 40->41 did pull in the latest. Anyways, happy that it’s resolved.
