How to set up HP Multipurpose Printer to Scan in Kinoite

I would love to switch over to Kinoite from Fedora WS, but 1) I need to be able to set up my HP laserjet MP printer to scan. Has anyone been successful in getting HPLIP to work on Kinoite so scanning works? And 2) I would like to be able to have my NAS network shares automounted when booting up. So far I have been using Gigolo app with autostart to automount them. Any suggestions for getting that to work on Kinoite? Thanks a million for any suggestions!!

Hi,
“sudo dnf install hplip”.
Then install your printer with the HP tool.
Works even for other brands like Konica MFP.

I have a little page on setting up networked printers for both printing and scanning. Scanning and Printing from CLI

This is kinoite, so rpm-ostree install hplip.

I would try on a second SSD first or maybe virt-manager VM. Some RPMs are not installable with rpm-ostree because they do weird things.

But to @pgjersvik this should be no issue, same as on Fedora Workstation.

But to be clear, you use GNOME and want to switch to atomic KDE? GNOME vs. KDE will be a bigger issue here.
