Gnome-remote-desktop not working when no screen connceted

Hi all - thanks for having me.

I’ve been trying to access my desktop running F34 from my Mac with ScreenSharing.

I can get it working if I have a screen hooked up to the computer, but if I am connected over VNC and unplug the HDMI cable, the VNC session gets terminated.
If I try to connect with the HDMI cable disconnected, it won’t work (but vnc server respond and asks for password).

Is this the expected behavior? I this due to Wayland ?
Should I run another VNC Server service in addition to gnome-remote-desktop?
