I have tried this twice (each time from a fresh install) and both times I have had the same issue. I follow all the instructions on Fedora IoT to set it up with my Raspberry Pi 4. I then set up the rmp-ostree timer to update the system. After that it only boots to emergency mode. What am I doing wrong? Or is Fedora IoT still not ready for actually using on a Raspberry Pi? (BTW - I’ve been using Fedora since Fedora Core 1 on my main computer, so it’s not like I’m new to Fedora or don’t know how to use it.)
I will try and come back after the next upgrade, but when I was investigating what went wrong, I took at look at journalxd. It mentioned something about the ignition file going wrong. I loaded up the SD card on my computer and say there was a file called something like “ignition.firstboot”. I deleted that and the system started up correctly.
If that’s the real issue, I think the instructions on the Fedora IoT site need to be updated to tell you to delete that if you’re using Zezere to get things started.
Next time there’s an update, I’ll see if we end up in this situation again. If not, definitely amend the instructions.
