I am having an issue with my new installation of fedora. After it goes to sleep/suspend, when I wake it up I am unable to use Ethernet connection for the internet. I am able to ping google.com but when I use a browser it doesn’t work.
I am new to fedora. What commands should I run to provide more information?
Some things that I have tried,
Restarting the NetworkManager: When it wakes up it still says the networkManager is active. I restart the network manager and I am still unable to use a browser FF or chromium.
I have manually set my DNS for my ipv4 to 8.8.8.8.
Wifi works fine, even if the computer sleeps/suspends.

Which of the 2 ethernet interfaces is used for internet access? When did you run inxi
: 1) before or after sleep/suspend, 2) was internet access working. Is one of the ethernet interfaces in a hub? Does wifi also have internet access?

Device 3 is the Ethernet that is plugged in, the other is not. I believe that is a before shot but I will run it again and after below.
Yes the internet was working I can surf the web etc. Both ethernet jacks are on my motherboard, not a hub.
Wifi has internet access and works even if the machine went to sleep.

Please search (e.g., with journalctl
) for errors similar to Realtek RTL8111/8168/8211/8411 issues . You may find the discussion helpful even if you don’t see the same errors. In that example, the solution was to replace the r8169
module with r8168
. Fedora doesn’t provide r8168
, but https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/rtl8111-8168-8411-realtek-ethernet-controller-not-working-r8169-related/86593 seems similar, and was solved by installing r8168
from a copr repo.
