I recently got a new computer, a BeeLink SER7 with a Radeon Rembrandt [Radeon 680M]. I have 3 Dell U24##H montors all with DP 1.2. I would like to get this setup but am not seeing much on how to dot hat. Is there additional documented config? Is there an application to install? Will this work with Gnome and Wayland?
I’m not sure I understand the question. It looks like your monitors support being “daisy chained” via their pass-through display port connections (one connection is for the data going into the monitor and the other connection is for the data going out of the monitor and on to the next). (BTW, the rule about connections labeled “in” or “out” on devices is that it is always from the perspective of the device. “in” means into the device with the “in” label and “out” means out of the device with the “out” label.)
There is no additional application to install for multi-stream transport (MST) support. That functionality is built into the amdgpu driver that comes with Linux.
Correct. i do have 3 Dell U24 inch monitors that support DisplayPort MST. However I can’t get it work using Fedora. Still having issues with Windows on my work laptop. Wasn’t sure if there was more configuration to be done…
I also have DisplayPort 1.2 enabled ON the monitor.
There are bandwidth limitations to be aware of. There are limits in what the protocol can handle. There are also limits in what the hardware (monitors/cables/video card) can handle. The whole system will only be as strong as its weakest link (so, e.g., if your cable cannot handle the bandwidth, nothing will work). You might try running things at lower resolutions or frequencies (or with fewer monitors in the chain) just to get it working and then try increasing the “load” gradually to see what it can handle.
Edit: If you are using USB-C for the first connection to the first monitor, make sure the USB port on the PC has the Display Port logo (not all USB-C ports will support the Display Port protocol).
I’m using all DisplayPort or miniDP to Displayport to each monitor. I can’t even make it do more than one…
What type system is this and what hardware.
Please post the output of inxi -Fzxx

Kernel/driver update fixed the problem.
