External mouse disables touchpad, but does not re-enable touchpad on mouse disconnect

dconf write /org/gnome/desktop/peripherals/touchpad/send-events "'disabled-on-external-mouse'" does not re-enable my touch pad, even on reboot.

This used to work pre Fedora 41 upgrade but no longer functions like it is supposed to after upgrading from F40 to F41.

Any advice on how I fix this functionality?

Try this:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.peripherals.touchpad send-events disabled-on-external-mouse
It changes the command at gnome instead of tweaking with fedora. (I may be wrong of what this command does :skull:, but it does work)
Did the same thing in Ubuntu (when I was using it before this.)

If you have a USB keyboard with a wheel (or some Consumer control device that detects as a mouse), that might also keep the touchpad disabled (I used to do the gsetting method for years until I got a keyboard with a volume knob)

I only connect a mouse to my laptop when I use it. Keyboard is the stock laptop keyboard.
