Enabling Variable Refresh Rate in Gnome 47

I tried enabling variable refresh rate in Gnome 47 on F41 by running gsettings set org.gnome.mutter experimental-features "['variable-refresh-rate']" in shell.
I’m trying all this in an Xorg session.

When I relog the session I do not have the option available on either of my VRR monitors.
Any ideas why this option would not come up?

Anyone can tell me how to get VRR working on X11 with Gnome 47 and F41?

I am not an expert, but I do not believe VRR is available with xorg. Xorg is no longer supported by default either on KDE or Workstation.

Well that’s a shame.
Wayland is an utter mess, applications crash all over the place on Wayland for me.
