Display energy settings seems to be ignored

Hello,

I have installed the Fedora 40 (KDE) on my Alienware laptop, and I have noticed that the display energy settings seems to be ignored. My settings are to attenuate after 5 minutes and power off the display after 10 minutes, but after two minutes the display is just powered off all the time ignoring those settings.

The brightness, performance profile, and other settings seems to be applied correctly, but the time required to power off the display is ignored and it never attenuates the brightness.
I have changed the settings to all three modes (AC, battery and critical battery), to see if maybe the computer was set as another mode (doesn’t really makes sense because the brightness changes without problem). Nothing changes.

I don’t know what to check to determine the problem. Does anyone knows how to check it?, because is very annonying when you are seeing a film or just in the cinematic part of a game. That is also another thing I have noticed, that even playing something at full screen the display is powered off.

Best regards.

Maybe try power conservation settings in the control panel. You are on a laptop so does it work differently when plugged in to AC or when on battery?

Hello,

Thanks, seems to be a problem related with the software. After updating the computer has started working I am not sure if by the update, or just for restarting.

Best regards.
