I have used xfce-look.org on other distributions, mainly of the Debian variety and managed to improve the look and feel of Xfce. However the ocs-url software that installs the cursors and themes is not available for Fedora. I can download my favorite software but cannot install it. I have tried to place things in /usr/share/icons to no avail. Any ideas?
Welcome to Fedora @beardedragon
sudo dnf search xfce |grep theme
elementary-xfce-icon-theme.noarch: Icons for Xfce based on the elementary Project Icon Theme
greybird-xfce4-notifyd-theme.noarch: Greybird Xfce4 notifyd theme
gtk-xfce-engine.i686: Xfce GTK theme engine
gtk-xfce-engine.x86_64: Xfce GTK theme engine
xfce-theme-manager.x86_64: A theme manager for Xfce
Have a look if the “theme manager” might help you or the GTK theme engine.
Yes, the border I wanted was very close to one: “Slick.” I’m using it. Thank you. I had already downloaded the cursors that are inside this xfce-theme-manager. One out of two ain’t bad.
The cursor I wanted is called Azenis, it is animated.
Thanks again, beardedragon.
I found a way to install ocs-url using yum. First download the file from xfce-look.org then run yum with super user “sudo” and the location of the file on your computer. It will add all of the dependencies as well at ocs-url to your system. Then install the cursor from xfce-look.org directly.
Thought you would like the following:
This is the command I used in Terminal “sudo yum install /home/Bob/Downloads/ocs-url-3.1.0-1.fc20.x86_64.rpm”
